A family. A passion. A vision.

Patio Design Inc.'s adventure takes root in Rawdon, as Jocelyn Cousineau builds his very first home... and its very first patio. Built with care and passion, this personal project quickly aroused the interest of the neighbourhood. Requests poured in, recommendations multiplied: a vocation was born.

In 1995, he founded Groupe MD DESIGN inc., a nod to his two sons, Maxime and David. In the first year, 20 patios were created. The following year, there were 35. The team grew, the know-how became more refined, and the idea of a company entirely dedicated to outdoor design was born: Patio Design was born in 1996.

A chance meeting at a hardware store — an advisor looking for a reliable carpenter — will be the trigger. Jocelyn seized the opportunity, guided by his passion for wood, design and a job well done

A strong brand

Over the years, the company built its reputation and officially became Patio Design Inc. A distinctive visual identity was created, the trucks were adorned with the emblematic logo, and the projects took shape throughout Quebec.

In 1997, Patio Design participated for the first time in the Olympic Stadium Home Show, marking the beginning of a remarkable presence at this flagship event.

In 1998, during the ice storm, the team mobilized to clean up Île Sainte-Hélène and Île Notre-Dame. This gesture of solidarity illustrates the values that have guided the company since its beginnings: mutual aid, commitment and social responsibility.

The following year, the acquisition of a small store on Boulevard des Laurentides, in Laval, marked a strategic turning point. By mastering its supply chain, Patio Design can now offer high-end, durable and aesthetic materials.

More than a job: a vision of well-being

Since its creation, Patio Design Inc. has distinguished itself by its creativity, rigor and sense of innovation. Much more than a builder, the company designs unique and inspiring outdoor spaces, designed to bring people together, relax and embellish everyday life.

The next generation: passion, heart and conviction

Between 2003 and 2016, Jocelyn passed on his know-how to his son David, who was fully invested in the family business. Driven by the same passion and looking to the future, David brings a fresh outlook and an ambitious vision.

In 2017, he took over the strategic reins of Patio Design and resolutely oriented the company towards the high-end. The approach became turnkey, the offer expanded: composite materials, paving stones, swimming pools, etc. Each project becomes a unique space, combining refined design, sustainability and performance.

In this continuity, the brand image is modernized. Today, it embodies the very essence of Patio Design: elegance, human warmth and a vision for the future.
